'The Revenant' wins top prize at British Academy Film Awards

"Revenant" became the main victor on a night honoring BAFTA otherwise relatively evenly spread-out that saw 14 films emerge with prizes.
The film won the Best Film Award, Best Director and Best Actor awards, along with the best sound and best cinematography.
"Mad Max: Road Rage" won four awards, while «Carol,« which had led the nominations were among the few titles excluded completely.
Stephen Fry was, again, the main host of the evening, but the other presenters included Tom Cruise, Idris Elba (who lost in a Best Supporting Actor to Mark Rylance) and Cuba Gooding Jr..
There were many comedic digs discussion Oscars diversity across, such as those available Rebel Wilson and Sacha Baron Cohen. The evening also saw Sidney Poitier receive the BFI Fellowship, but the iconic actress was too ill to attend to accept the award in a video.
In honor of the evening clash with Valentine's Day, BAFTA up a "Kiss Cam," aimed at real life couples, including Fassbender and Vikander, and least likely pairs like Maggie Smith and Leonardo DiCaprio.
"This year, the stars have conspired and collided with a way to make the BAFTA coincides with Valentine's Day," said Fry. "Love between two women, love among Roman Catholic priests ... ... and their lawyers."
