This Sunday, countless loved-up couples are going to do something romantic for celebrating Valentine's Day. If this involves the capture of a movie or heading out to eat, Americans are set to spend a lot of money this weekend. Last Sunday was already incredibly lucrative for the US economy with Super Bowl viewers splashing out over $ 15 billion on everything from food TEAM and parties.

Valentine's Day is to overcome the soccer craze with all costs to hit a record 19.7 billion, according to the National Retail Federation. Some 54.8 percent of Americans are expected to celebrate the holidays this year, with candy, greeting cards and a night out at the top of the gift list. As usual, men are set to spend significantly more than women for spouses / significant others. The average person will spend $ 133.61 on gifts this year compared with $ 62.14 for women. It is a known fact that Americans love their pets and people across the nation will spend an average of $ 26.24 on gifts for their furry friends.
